Start of a new year in kindergarten!! :)

Classroom "Rules"

I am making a version of these two signs to hang in my room instead of our old community agreement and in place of traditional rules.  I love everything about this...the positive language, the sense of community it creates, the explicitness, etc.  I think I'm going to use these words/phrases to make it "my own" and try to convey my values and expectations:

Think deeply—learn—question—discuss—grow—laugh—love—wonder—share ideas—listen—say “thank you”—say “I’m sorry”—dream big—work hard—are respectful—make mistakes (and fix them!)—have fun—try new things—use manners—smile—help—believe in ourselves—clean up—share—take turns—know it’s okay to disagree—do what is needed to learn 

I haven't decided if I'll use a canvas, rectangular piece of wood, or just use one of my smaller bulletin boards and place the words around a giant heart in the middle, but I'm super excited about it!
